Mercan Religious Education and Tutoring will be a start-up business venture based in Bristol The business will solely be directed by Mrs Meryem Mercan, offering Islamic Religious tutoring services to young children (starting from age 3) and adults. Mrs Mercan’s main purpose is to deliver high-quality and tailored services to those who are seeking for educational support in Bristol and environs.

Mrs Meryem Mercan was born and raised in Turkey. She completed her secondary education at Imam Hatip School in Turkey where government employed imams are trained. Additionally, she has attended to several courses related to her profession including Quran courses. Mrs Mercan is a passionate educator with good communication skills who is willing to tailor her services around customer’s requests to help them make the most of these lessons.

United Kingdom has a significant Muslim population with most living in major urban centres such as Bristol, London and it is quite a young demographic. The number of Muslims in the UK are expected to increase substantially in the near feature. Groups of British Muslims include Pakistanis, Indians, Arabs, Kurds and Turks. Majority of Muslim parents are concern that their children are not getting the adequate religious education within schools. With the growing Muslim population, there is a greater demand for teachers and private tutors educating children about Islam.

As a young and determined individual, Mrs Mercan believes that she has the skills required to fill the gap within the sector. She is going to be empathetic to children’s emotions and parent’s needs in order to maximise customer satisfaction. Mrs Mercan believes that when working with children, creativity is the key to keep their attention to the lessons. Hence, she will always seek for new and innovative ways to engage children to learn.
